Experiencing Wine: A Sparkling Good Time

Dr. Elizabeth Tomasino, Assistant Professor of Enology-OSU, is offering an afternoon exploration of sparkling wine in a relaxed atmosphere.  

Journey through traditional champagne winemaking, learn how to decipher champagne labels, other types of sparkling wine and end with a short sparkling wine and food pairing. 
The one-day workshop consists of two sessions, and will include champgane tastings from a variety of regions, both local and international.
Session One:
Traditional champagne making (method champenoise)
    Wine tasting-Champagne wine styles, by sweetness

Session Two:
Sparkling wine grape varieties
   Wine tasting-Champagne wine styles, by grape varietal
   Wine tasting-Other sparkling wines (Prosecco, Cava, and more)
